VIDEO | Napoles Claims She Gave P5-M to Drilon's Campaign

Alleged pork barrel mastermind Janet Lim-Napoles claimed that she gave at least P5 million for the campaign of Senator Franklin Drilon in the 2010 elections. In Saturday’s interview with broadcaster Erwin Tulfo which some parts were aired Monday on PTV-4, Napoles claimed she gave a campaign donation to Drilon amounting to P5 million during the 2010 elections. She said she personally turned over the money to Drilon at a hotel. Asked how much she gave to Drilon, Napoles said P5 million. P5 million po,” Napoles said. (Drilon knows me and I even gave donations during the election, when he ran in the 2010 elections.) “Nagpasalamat po siya dahil noon tanggapin niya iyon, may kasama pa siyang kapamilya niya eh,” she added. Napoles said she was ready to present evidence and witnesses to prove her allegations, if needed. She insisted that she was close friends with Drilon, refuting the former senator’s statements against her. Asawa niya at anak ng asawa niya sa first husband,” Napoles said. Napoles is currently detained at Camp Bagong Diwa in Taguig for plunder charges in relation to the alleged misuse of lawmakers’ Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF). Tulfo claimed Drilon did not declare this in his statement of contributions and expenditures (SOCE) submitted to the Commission on Elections (Comelec). Meanwhile, presidential spokesperson Harry Roque in an interview with Radyo Pilipinas said it’s high time to investigate those Liberal Party members implicated by Napoles in the pork barrel scam. Pananagutan na,” Roque said. “Leave it to the DOJ (Department of Justice) but there should be an investigation,” he said in a text message. “Let the process of accountability begin,” he added. WATCH
