Jim Paredes apologized to Muslim community after he claims that Duterte intends to block Ninoy Aquino Day by using Eid al-Adha

After the rage from the Muslim community and to netizens who raised eyebrows to the legendary OPM artist and known Duterte critic Jim Paredes, he posted an apology on his social media account addressing the issue of making August 21, a Muslim Holiday instead of celebrating Ninoy Aquino day as declared by the Malacañang. According to Paredes, he was just a little bit confused based on his research that for some countries based on the Muslim calendar, festival calendar starts at the earlier sunset and are celebrated on the same day, August 22 based on the 2018 calendar. He explained that the Islamic calendar is a lunar calendar, so Eid al-Adha should be celebrated on August 22, not August 21.

This year Eid al-Adha, was commended on a similar date with the 35th passing commemoration of previous Senator Benigno Aquino Jr. Along these lines, Duterte government announced Eid al-Adha, as a National Holiday, by chance, August 21 additionally checks Ninoy Aquino Day, a unique non-working occasion. Paredes trusted that the Duterte government deliberately checked August 21 as a 'Muslim Holiday' as an endeavor to 'make light of' Ninoy Aquino Day. This is what he said in his tweet: Today Is Ninoy Aquino Day. Changing it to a Muslim Holiday which actually falls tomorrow is a brazen attempt to downplay the hero’s death anniversary. Nothing can dimish what Ninoy has done for this country.

That is why after netizens and Muslim people retweeted his statement "against" the Duterte administration, Paredes issued an apology however netizens are still not convinced for he explained his side on his mistake but did not even apologize to Malacañang where his tweet is coming from. Here are some of the netizens comments after the said apology:

Even the well known DDS blogger said Paredes apologized to the Muslim community, but the sincerity to apoligized most especially criticizing the Duterte administration just to impress the Aquino family was not felt by the netizens.

The problem with this apology is it is bereft with sincerity. Your original tweet was a malicious political stab, and you miserably failed to take into consideration the sentiment of our muslim brethren. All because you want to score pogi points with the Aquino family. — OxyMORONic (Mark Lopez) (@MarkAnthonyDCL1) August 22, 2018

Nag apologize sa mga Muslim pero sa Malacanang na ginawan ng issue hindi. Nag try pa i-justify @jimparedes #nega pic.twitter.com/DikDR8qUMV — Alt Philippine Media (@AltPhilMedia) August 22, 2018

Dear Mr. Jim Paredes, we celebrate our Eid not based on Malacañang's declaration of holiday. Confirmation from Darul Iftas from our country and other neighboring countries comes first. Please do your research about our moonsighting and our Hijrah calendar po. @jimparedes pic.twitter.com/jR2gnC78Yt — BBMarcos ®✌ 🇵🇭 (@Fitch1124) August 22, 2018
